On Monday February 5th the PTSC met in Ottawa for its annual in-person meeting. The PTSC received remarks from Parliamentary Secretary Jean-Claude Poissant on the federal governments approach to building public trust and had an opportunity to pose questions. The PTSC also received an update from AAFC regarding the public trust component of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, discussed and approved an annual workplan for the PTSC, discussed funding options for the network of agricultural public trust initiatives, the needs and components of a big and basic communications plan and the potential for a name change. The PTSC will be moving forward with a funding application to the federal government soon and better defining how other interested parties can engage with the PTSC.
