Farm Management Canada to hold consultation in advance of CFA AGM

Farm Management Canada (FMC) will hold a series of consultations with producers and other industry stakeholders to help test and finalize a new Risk Assessment and Management Platform for the Canadian agricultural industry called AgriShield®. FMC hopes to hold one of these consultations in conjunction with CFA’s AGM in Ottawa.  As such, FMC seeks participants who would be available on Tuesday, February 27th from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Ottawa, the day before the start of CFA’s Annual General Meeting.

The first 15 individuals to register in the focus group will be reimbursed for one night accommodation and travel, up to a total of $600 per participant. Participants will also have the opportunity to sign-in as a preferred user for the pilot-testing phase of AgriShield®, which will grant free access to the tool for a 12 months periods starting in April 2018. FMC are seeking your opinion and expertise in order to build a tool that will fit your needs and the needs of the industry.

AgriShield® is the first Canadian platform that will offer a 360 degree vision to help assess and manage risks on the farm. The tool will identify, assess, prioritize and create risk management plans to mitigate and manage the potential negative effects of risk. The tool will also identify and analyze the risks that are most important for each individual farm or group of farms and suggest solutions to manage those risks, going beyond traditional BRM programs and insurance to help the industry mitigate and manage all farm risk.
